The mission of the FoodShare was created to help eliminate hunger and provide access to better quality food for residents of Wisconsin. FoodShare is a version of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) through the federal government (each state has a different name for their program). Participants in the FoodShare program are provided an electronic card (ATM card) that allows them to make purchases on food in authorized retail food stores.

College students are eligible to receive FoodShare assistance if they meet certain requirements.
